Facilities Technician (Plumbing, Steam & Pipework)
Location: Market Drayton
Salary: 45,000 per annum
A new opportunity is available for a Facilities Technician with expertise in plumbing, steam systems, and pipework. You'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of site utilities, including water, steam, compressed air, and drainage systems. The role also includes reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and occasional welding or fabrication work.
Key responsibilities include:
Installing and maintaining various pipework systems (copper, stainless, PVC, etc.)
Maintaining steam systems, valves, traps, and condensate lines
Performing mechanical fault finding and breakdown support
Carrying out safe welding and basic fabrication where needed
Logging work in CMMS (e.g., HolisTech) and ensuring PPM compliance
Assisting with contractor oversight and utility-related project work
Supporting water hygiene, pressure systems, and energy-saving initiatives
Requirements:
Relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Plumbing, Pipefitting, or Mechanical Engineering
Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
Welding experience (preferred)
Familiarity with water hygiene standards (L8), WRAS, and confined space safety
Ability to read schematics and prioritise work under pressure
