Job Description
Hitachi Rail is seeking dedicated and experienced Facilities Technicians to join our Train Maintenance Centre in Edinburgh.
Location: Craigentinny Train Maintenance Centre
Salary: £42,218; 5% Shift allowance; £3000 Location allowance
Contract Type: Permanent
Accountabilities
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance and diagnostics of site plant and infrastructure and contribute to upholding standards set by the Facilities & Infrastructure Manager.
Key responsibilities:
Manage departmental procurement, including creating and managing purchase requisitions (PRs) and orders (POs).
Conduct risk assessments related to site maintenance activities.
Uphold company safety policies and procedures in all tasks.
Create and manage SAP items as required for governance, including: functional locations, assets, notifications, work orders, equipment structures, task lists, maintenance plans, and maintenance cycles.
Help investigate accidents and incidents as required by line manager.
Provide assistance in implementing and maintaining departmental records and procedures.
Support waste management as needed for the site, liaising between contractors and site staff.
Provide support to external contractors as directed by line manager.
Ensure issues concerning site plant equipment and infrastructure are reported timely to the line manager.
Assist with compliance works where required.
To be the deputy responsible person regarding L8.
Assist in training/induction of new personnel, including escorting visitors and contractors around site as required.
Liaison with Hitachi and external personnel as required, including management of third-party contractors on site.
Assist other departments as directed by line manager.
Promote and implement Hitachi’s ethos, culture and values.
Involve in Hitachi Rail Europe’s staff development and training and participate in PDP.
