Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Facilities Supervisor in the Water Department’s Plant Operations Division. This role oversees maintenance and repairs for Water, Wastewater, and Dryer facilities, supervises staff, and supports HVAC-related operations.

Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma/GED with building construction training and 4 years of building maintenance experience, plus 2 years in supervisory roles; a Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with building construction training.
• Four years’ experience in construction or maintenance of buildings or related structures.
• Two years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff, ensuring training, adherence to policies, a safe work environment, and informed decisions or recommendations on hiring and disciplinary actions
• Manages and inspects HVAC projects for Plant Operations Division facilities, identifies repair needs and recommends upgrades
• Monitors contractors for quality and compliance, and verifies contract billing for accuracy
• Identifies and schedules routine HVAC maintenance and repairs
• Monitors assigned budget; and maintains records concerning pertinent building HVAC maintenance information
• Performs other related duties as required
• Provides staff assistance to higher level supervisory or management; prepares reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary

$31.52 - $40.98/hr. | $65,563 - $85,232 annual compensation

A Facilities Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department /Plant Operations Division. This position supervises and coordinates the maintenance, and repairs activities for our Water, Wastewater and Dryer facilities. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee and participate in the installation and upkeep of HVAC systems, provides guidance and support to staff, and assists senior management with HVAC‑related operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in building construction or arelated field
• Four (4) years of responsible experience in construction or maintenance of buildings or related structures
• Two (2) years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience
• Valid Texas driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with various different platforms of Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning system operation and control
• Experience with Asset Management Systems
• Knowledge of City purchasing rules and regulations
• Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
