Facilities Supervisor Job Description
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Supervisor will be instrumental in coordinating all activities related to managing general site buildings and supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities include prioritising workload, ensuring compliance within legislative frameworks, and minimising disruption to daily site activities and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage completion of prioritised actions based on site surveys, fire risk assessments, roller shutter doors, and asbestos surveys.
- Handle all daily work requests from colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the quarterly servicing of the cooling water dispenser and update the asset register.
- Assist the external competent person reviewing annual Fire Risk Assessments.
- Archive all documents related to maintenance works within the Facilities Department and pass relevant documents to other departments.
- Maintain grounds vegetation, perimeter fencing, railway, and quarries.
- Maintain roller shutter doors, updating asset lists and site plans accordingly.
- Maintain boilers and electric water heaters, ensuring asset registers and work plans are current.
- Oversee internal decorating, floor coverings, external cladding, and maintenance of doors and windows.
- Maintain the car park, plant roads, and authorised walking routes.
- Manage building roofs, rainwater systems, and skylights maintenance.
- Manage the window cleaning contract.
- Maintain plumbing and drainage systems, including toilets and showers.
- Oversee welfare facilities, ensuring hygiene compliance.
- Perform floor, handrail, platform painting, and maintain road signage and pedestrian crossings.
- Organise and manage marquees for shutdowns.
- Act as the main contact for Centreplain Limited, coordinating workload updates with the supervisor.
- Assist with CAPEX projects involving the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure safety documentation for external contractors is complete and filed appropriately.
- Prioritise shutdown-related work and supervise relevant contractors.
- Manage actions related to Legionella risk assessments and compliance monitoring.
- Assist with utility surveys and ground clearance procedures.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- NEBOSH National General Certificate
- SMSTS qualification
- Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management
- Duty to Manage Asbestos (Appointed Person)
- F Gas Awareness/Management training
Experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory and management experience
- Experience in personnel and cost management within a financial budget
