Job summary

Croydon Almshouses is seeking an experienced Facilities Officer to support the Property & Estates Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of its almshouses and wider investment property portfolio. The role focuses on coordinating contractors, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of experience in facilities management and property maintenance.
• Experience coordinating and monitoring contractors and ensuring works completed to an appropriate standard.
• Experience carrying out inspections, identifying defects and maintaining accurate records.
• Understanding of building maintenance programmes.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements, fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos awareness, COSHH and general building compliance.
• Legionella Awareness Training and Fire Safety Awareness training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Property & Estates Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of almshouses and the CA Investment Property Portfolio.
• Coordinate and monitor works by external contractors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain records, inspections and schedules for property assets and safety.
• Assist with general facilities management tasks to support a safe and well-maintained live-in community.

Permanent |£39,800 per annum | 37.5 hours per week

Since 1447, we’ve provided almshouse accommodation to older people with a connection to Croydon who are negatively affected by poverty. For the past 40 years, we’ve also awarded grants to voluntary, community and faith sector organisations, and individuals across the Borough.

To help us deliver this, we’re recruiting an experienced Facilities Officer, to support the Property & Estates Manager (PEM) in the day-to-day operation and management of its almshouses and the wider CA Investment Property Portfolio.

• A proven track record of experience working within facilities management and property maintenance
• Experience of coordinating and monitoring contractors and ensuring works are completed to an appropriate standard
• Experience of carrying out inspections, identifying defects and maintaining accurate records
• Understanding of building maintenance programmes
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements, fire safety, water hygiene, asbestos awareness, COSHH and general building compliance
• Legionella Awareness Training and Fire Safety Awareness training
