Mission Description

Job Purpose: To manage the operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and all regulatory agencies related to facilities. This includes structures, utilities such as heating, air conditioning, power, water, and electrical systems. The role ensures the proper and safe functioning of all facilities, oversees facility planning, construction, remodeling, and repair, and promotes energy saving and environmental impact reduction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilities management including planning for current and future needs.
  2. Managing repairs and maintenance budgets.
  3. Managing subcontractors, including performance reviews and cost management.
  4. On-site presence to coordinate with contractors, including occasional weekend or night work.
  5. Security management, including key holding and out-of-hours security measures.
  6. Handling landlord requests, lease negotiations, and facility modifications.
  7. Overseeing operation, maintenance, repair, installation, and construction activities.
  8. Managing exterior maintenance and landscaping contractors.
  9. Overseeing security contractors and security measures.
  10. Monitoring and maintaining parking facilities.
  11. Promoting positive relationships within the team and with contractors.
  12. Maintaining a safe work environment with proper safety procedures.
  13. Participating in site improvements and calibration processes.
  14. Effective communication and coordination with staff and management.
  15. Developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
  16. Performing routine repairs and supporting IT infrastructure setup.
  17. Visitor management, including international visitors.
  18. Additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience: Demonstrable relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Essential: Stakeholder management, project management, proficiency with Windows and MS Office, construction and maintenance knowledge, strong judgment, communication skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Additional (preferred): Experience in aerospace or aircraft manufacturing, large-scale project management, knowledge of UK environmental regulations.
