Job Introduction

In a Nutshell

A unique opportunity has arisen here at Pennyhill Park for a Facilities Manager to join the Maintenance team.

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, the Facilities Manager will assist with the smooth running of the department & property by ensuring the building is safe and well maintained at all times. Responsibilities include developing the department and team, making improvements to hotel installations, guest rooms, and facilities. The role also involves ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, maintaining H&S documentation, and keeping records up to date for the Hotel & Spa.

Role Responsibility

  • Deputise for the Technical Services Manager at management & contractor meetings
  • Act as liaison between hotel and contractors on major projects
  • Manage repair and maintenance response times to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Follow up regularly with departments on works outstanding, planned, or anticipated
  • Ensure resources, personnel, time, and materials are adequate for all tasks
  • Maintain workshop and plant areas in immaculate condition
  • Ensure engineering team compliance with company and statutory Health and Safety procedures
  • Conduct in-house training sessions for team development
  • Create and distribute department rotas
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and inform the Technical Services Manager of issues
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required
  • Implement energy-saving procedures and ensure hotel compliance
  • Monitor utility bills for accuracy
  • Assist in preparing the annual Property & Maintenance and utilities budget and monthly forecasts
  • Perform regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance to minimize costs
  • Oversee refurbishment projects in public areas, bedrooms, and mechanical/electrical plant
  • Be available for call-out when needed
  • Assist maintenance operations at other properties within the Exclusive Collection when required

The Ideal Candidate

Are you right for us?

  • Assistant Manager or Senior Shift Engineer with at least 2 years' experience
  • Experience working with contractors
  • Skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Spa pool operations, with H&S qualification at CIEH Intermediate level or equivalent
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Strategic mindset and project management skills
  • Good financial understanding
