The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Facilities or Estates professional to lead a large multi-disciplinary maintenance team. As Facilities Manager, you’ll be responsible for statutory compliance, maintenance planning, operational resilience, and proactive asset management across a complex and high-profile site. The role requires a confident leader who can combine technical know-how with a commercial mindset to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities for the Facilities Manager include:

  • Lead and deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory standards
  • Manage complex building systems and infrastructure, with oversight of M&E, structural works, and fleet
  • Develop and implement SLAs, monitor KPIs, and support audits and accreditations
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a skilled in-house team and oversee external contractors

Requirements for the Facilities Manager include:

  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., HND, City & Guilds) in electrical, mechanical, or building services
  • Strong leadership experience managing multi-skilled maintenance teams in a complex setting
  • Sound understanding of H&S legislation (e.g., asbestos, legionella, gas safety, CDM)
  • Confident with compliance systems and CAFM tools, with a data-led approach to planning and risk
  • Competitive salary of £49,500
