Job description

At Retirement Villages Group, we’re building vibrant, sustainable communities that help people age well. We are now recruiting a Facilities Manager for our brand-new village in West Byfleet - an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on leadership role from the ground up.

This is a unique chance to shape the operations of a new community, ensuring it is safe, efficient, welcoming, and ready to support exceptional resident experiences from day one.

The Role:

  • Leading the mobilisation of all facilities-related services at our new West Byfleet village - from commissioning equipment to onboarding staff and setting up contracts
  • Overseeing property, grounds, and housekeeping services, setting and maintaining the highest standards
  • Driving environmental sustainability, utility efficiency, and biodiversity initiatives across the site
  • Ensuring full health and safety compliance, including emergency systems and documentation
  • Creating a culture of customer service excellence, engaging closely with residents and the village team
  • Managing planned and preventative maintenance (PPM), tendering, contractor relationships, and quality control
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting a team aligned with RVG values and operational goals
  • Working cross-functionally to contribute to the commercial and community success of the village

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years’ experience in facilities management with strong customer-facing and operational expertise
  • Level 2 Facilities Management qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven knowledge of health and safety, including fire safety and legionella (IOSH Managing Safely preferred)
  • Experience in managing mobilisation projects, budgeting, procurement, and contractor performance
  • Strong people leadership, organisational and hands-on technical skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 and facilities-related systems

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Fire Safety Level 2
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical or building trades
  • Pool plant operation (Level 3) where applicable
