We're currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager to take responsibility for ensuring our site is performing to the highest possible standards on a permanent basis at our Brakes Depot in Tamworth (part of Sysco GB). This is a vital role within the team to ensure we maintain and keep focus on enhancing our facilities to ensure compliance to support the wider Depot operations.
You will oversee the engineering and maintenance of our site with 9 direct reports. Our Facilities team play a crucial role in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all site services and equipment. As Facilities Manager you will take lead of projects and control of budgets for effective maintenance planning. Using your expertise in electrical and mechanical engineering you will be overseeing planned maintenance and asset management to improve performance.
Success in this role will be demonstrated by ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of critical systems, including but not limited to: fire prevention, domestic water, air supply, gas supply and boilers, refrigeration, electrical systems, statutory compliance, dock doors, levellers, and shelters, buildings, waste handling, and outdoor areas, effluent, drainage, and yard maintenance, HVAC, and air conditioning. We will look for you to provide effective leadership and stability in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
To join us in this role you'll be qualified in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (City and Guilds/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent) with management experience in FMCG or logistics. You'll have a strong engineering compliance background with site and building services expertise. Proven experience in project management and facilities oversight is required (awareness or knowledge of CDM: Construction, Design and Management. GMP: Good Manufacturing Practice. 5S: 5 steps. TPM: Total Productive Maintenance. CMMS: Computerised Maintenance Management System would be of an advantage). You'll be a strong people manager with effective communication style to forge relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You'll be a decision-maker with an ability to stay calm and effective under pressure while supporting the site management team and your wider team. Highly motivated with a passion for continuous improvement through analytical and problem-solving skills.
