Job Description:

V&C Associates is proud to be partnering with one of the largest Residential Estate Functions within South Yorkshire, recruiting for a Facilities Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of soft and hard Facilities Management across a cluster of properties, providing a well-maintained, safe, secure, clean, compliant, and efficient environment. The Facilities Manager will support the development and execution of the national FM strategy and standards, ensuring consistent local delivery. The role includes managing a team accountable for health, safety, and security of their designated buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive recruitment and retention of the Facilities team, ensuring ongoing engagement through performance management
  • Manage team performance, participate in performance reviews, and support personal development
  • Ensure properties are staffed with appropriate facilities personnel according to needs
  • Address issues promptly, resolving or escalating as necessary
  • Manage company policies, procedures, and working practices
  • Ensure delivery of the estate's planned maintenance in line with statutory requirements and quality standards
  • Oversee security provision across all properties
  • Manage the property estate’s P&L, identify future capital expenditure needs, and ensure compliance with H&S and fire assessments
  • Ensure property projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Maintain internal cleanliness and external curb appeal
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency services where applicable
  • Manage fleet operations
  • Understand and support the organisation’s sustainability strategy and targets

Key Characteristics:

  • Approachable
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience managing teams within a FM role
  • Knowledge of fire safety equipment management
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of building heating and ventilation systems
