Job summary

The Work Shop Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for an established client based in Poole, Dorset. You will oversee 3 sites, ensuring effective facilities management, scheduling preventative maintenance, and coordinating with ESG and QSHE teams to maintain safe, compliant environments.

Key duties include managing budgets, supplier contracts, and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high safety standards and a proactive approach to facilities improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in facilities management with trade skills (plumbing, electronics, carpentry).
  • Able to manage 3 sites and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving and budget-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure PPM schedule is in place and adhered to.
  • Carry out timely maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Manage safety culture database and contractor register.
  • Source new contractors and suppliers for repairs, maintenance, or security.
  • Oversee projects and changes to existing facilities.
  • Raise Purchase Orders and verify invoices for payment.
  • Forecast facilities needs and develop budgets.
  • Monitor facility health and safety and security compliance.
  • Waste control under ISO14001:2015.

Our prestigious client based in Poole are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to join their busy team.

What you will be doing as a Facilities Manager

Facilities Manager
Hours: (phone number removed)pm, Mon Fri
Location: Poole, Dorset

Responsible for 3 sites, you will work closely with the Operations Managers, Head of ESG and the QSHE Manager to ensure that building and building services are managed efficiently, effectively and in safe conditions.

Other key responsibilities of the Facilities Manager
  • Ensure PPM schedule is in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure timely maintenance is carried out on all plant equipment for the company.
  • Manage facilities aspects of Safety Culture database system, ensuring data is logged and kept up to date, including approved contractor register.
  • As required, source new contractors and suppliers for repairs, maintenance, renovations, waste disposal and security.
  • Responsible for new projects and changes to existing facilities.
  • Control of, and raising Purchase Orders, clearance of associated invoices for accuracy and payment.
  • Outline strategies for improving efficiency and reducing costs and forecasting all facilities future needs.
  • Develop and monitor facilities budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost–saving measures
  • Ensure compliance with all facility health and safety and security protocols.
  • Waste control management in accordance with ISO14001:2015.
  • Work closely with Head of ESG to support initiatives and projects aligned to improving our credentials and creating sustainable practices.

Who you are as a Facilities Manager

Experienced in facilities management with trade skills (plumbing, electronics, carpentry), you have an adaptable style able to turn your hand to most things. Problem solving is your strength, in addition to operating as the point person for PPM and contractor/supplier management. You will also have a commercial mind set able to manage your budget while also seeking cost savings where possible through in–house remedies. You will also have a flair for communication and teamwork, working across 3 sites you will be comfortable organising your workload without supervision. Operating with integrity and with your customer in mind your goal will be to ensure the working environment is safe and properly maintained.
