Job Title: Facilities Manager (12-Month Contract)

Location: Oxford

Contract Length: 12 Months

Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager for a 12-month contract to oversee the total facilities management of a prestigious commercial office block in the heart of Oxford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and hands-on professional to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all tenants and visitors. You will be the primary point of contact for all facilities-related matters, responsible for both strategic planning and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all hard and soft facilities management services, including cleaning, security, waste management, and landscaping.

  • Managing and monitoring all mechanical and electrical (M&E) planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive works.

  • Ensuring strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including conducting risk assessments, fire safety checks, and water hygiene (Legionella) management.

  • Liaising with tenants to address any issues promptly and maintain high levels of satisfaction.

  • Managing third-party contractors and suppliers, from procurement and negotiation to performance reviews.

  • Controlling the facilities budget, authorising expenditure, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

  • Conducting regular building inspections to ensure the property is maintained to the highest standards.

  • Managing small-scale office moves, fit-outs, and minor projects as required.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated Facilities Manager with a proven track record in a corporate or multi-tenanted office environment. You will possess:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Facilities Manager role.

  • Strong knowledge of building services (M&E) and statutory compliance.

  • Excellent contractor and budget management skills.

  • A recognised health and safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH is highly desirable).

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.

  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
