Job description

About The Role:

A leading international architecture studio is seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager to join their team during an exciting phase of growth and transition.

In this newly created role, you will work closely with senior leadership and be supported by a Facilities Coordinator, helping to shape the operational future of this large, design-led practice. Your responsibilities will span day-to-day facilities management, overseeing key contracts (including fire safety and cleaning services), and ensuring health and safety best practices are consistently upheld. While the role has strategic oversight, the ideal candidate will also be hands-on and ready to get involved where needed. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, and a qualification in health and safety (NEBOSH or IOSH) is highly desirable. We’re looking for a forward-thinking, solutions-driven individual with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

This is an opportunity to become part of a respected and award-winning practice, enjoy a supportive studio culture, and access a range of enhanced benefits as you contribute to the smooth running and future success of a standout name in the architectural world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across the studio, ensuring spaces are tidy, well-maintained, and health & safety compliant
  • Act as main liaison with the landlord, external contractors, and service providers to coordinate building access and maintenance
  • Lead all Health & Safety protocols, risk assessments, and fire safety procedures, ensuring compliance and documentation are up to date
  • Support the planning and execution of the studio’s upcoming office move, including logistics, communication, and post-move coordination
  • Manage practical upkeep of the studio including minor repairs, furniture moves, and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Maintain site security procedures (including out-of-hours callouts when needed)
  • Work closely with the Facilities Coordinator and wider team to action space changes, staff onboarding requirements, and equipment requests
  • Maintain budgets, supplier contracts, and insurance policies in collaboration with senior leadership

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a facilities or building management role, ideally within a creative or studio environment
  • Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation; formal training (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH) a plus
  • Confident, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and practical maintenance skills
  • Physically fit, comfortable with manual tasks including lifting, working in small spaces, and using ladders
  • Clear communicator with excellent organisational and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident working across multiple systems
  • Friendly, collaborative mindset with a “can-do” attitude and team-first approach
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and service providers
