About Shropshire Council
As a council, we're putting Shropshire on the map because of the way we're changing ourselves and transforming lives.

Why work for us?
Helping the people of Shropshire live their best lives: this is what we do, and why we all chose to work here.

Shropshire Council is a complex organisation of some 5,700 people. We care for society's most vulnerable. We help local businesses grow. We educate children and young people in schools and academies. We look after our shared environment now, and for future generations. We encourage people to take part in the democratic process - because we are their council, after all.

Whatever we do, we are united around our shared purpose: to help the people of Shropshire to live their very best lives. Join us, and you will too.

We're a council on a journey. Come with us. We're not your typical council. Why? Because we're not afraid to change. In fact, right now, we're on a journey that will transform the way we work, the services we deliver - and the lives of our residents. Come with us and see how far you go.

Truly modern benefits.
We recognise the excellent work our people do, so we're proud to support colleagues with a whole host of benefits that make a real difference to your health and wellbeing, money and finance, and the way you work.
