Job summary

Meritus Talent is supporting a major organisation in appointing an FM Data Transformation Lead to own a significant data and reporting transformation for Facilities Management across Stevenage, Bristol or Bolton. The role is 12 months with potential extension, hybrid with 1–2 days on site.

You will lead from discovery through implementation, establishing a governed FM data framework, KPI library and reporting capabilities, working across FM operations, data, BI and programme delivery.

Qualifications

Rate: £60 to £70 per hour Umbrella
Working Pattern: Hybrid, minimum 1 to 2 days per week on site, remainder remote
Security Clearance: BPSS to start, with SC clearance required. UK Eyes Only restrictions apply

The Opportunity

We are currently supporting a major organisation with the appointment of an FM Data Transformation Lead to take ownership of a significant Facilities Management data and reporting transformation programme.

The successful candidate will lead the transformation from the current state assessment and validation stage through to implementation, adoption and handover into Business as Usual.

The objective is to establish a trusted, governed and sustainable FM data and reporting capability, bringing together existing reporting, KPIs and data sources into a consistent framework that enables reliable performance reporting and better decision-making.

This is a role for someone who can operate between FM operations, data, BI and programme delivery. You will need to understand how to turn complex operational requirements into practical data and reporting solutions, while having the confidence to challenge existing processes and establish consistent standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Transformation & Programme Delivery

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the FM Data & Reporting Transformation Programme.

• Develop and maintain the programme plan, including milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions and deliverables.

• Review and validate existing work and determine what can be retained, developed or replaced.

• Coordinate delivery across multiple FM functions and stakeholder groups.

• Provide regular progress reporting to FM leadership.

• Identify and escape risks, issues and decisions requiring senior intervention.

• Maintain clear programme documentation and evidence of delivery.

FM Data Governance & Standardisation

• Develop and implement an FM-wide data governance framework.

• Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, quality controls and change management processes.

• Create a consistent FM KPI library with agreed definitions, calculation methodologies and ownership.

• Identify duplication, inconsistent definitions and gaps within existing FM reporting.

• Establish processes for the creation, amendment and retirement of FM KPIs and reports.

• Introduce appropriate data validation and reconciliation controls.

Data & Technical Foundations

• Map FM data sources, systems, interfaces and manual processes.

• Define the central FM data model and associated requirements.

• Work with technical specialists to establish appropriate integrations, automated data flows and refresh processes.

• Coordinate technical resources and specialist support where required.

• Ensure solutions align with FM requirements and relevant information management and cyber security controls.

• Ensure data calculations, transformations and logic are documented and maintainable.

Essential Experience

We are looking for an experienced FM, Data, BI or Reporting Transformation professional with demonstrable experience delivering complex data and reporting change.

You should have:

• Significant experience leading data, BI or reporting transformation programmes from discovery through to implementation and handover.

• Strong experience within Facilities Management, Estates, Property, Workplace or a closely related environment.

• Strong practical understanding of data governance, data ownership and data quality.

• Experience developing KPI frameworks and establishing consistent definitions and calculation methodologies.

• Strong understanding of data modelling, data integration and reporting architecture.

• Strong Power BI and BI/reporting knowledge.

• Experience working with multiple data sources and identifying duplication, inconsistencies and data quality issues.

• Experience translating operational requirements into practical data and reporting solutions.

• Strong programme or workstream management experience.

• Experience managing milestones, dependencies, risks and deliverables.

• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

• Confidence challenging requirements and escalating decisions where appropriate.

• Experience with UAT, implementation, user adoption and transition into BAU.

• Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of delivery.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

• Previous experience within Facilities Management or workplace environments.

• Experience working with CAFM or IWMS platforms.

• Knowledge of Planon.

• Experience working with outsourced FM or service-provider data.

• Experience working with asset, maintenance, property or estates data.

• Experience within a regulated, highly governed or security-conscious organisation.

• Experience with Microsoft data technologies and associated BI environments.
