Job summary

Vita Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative in Coventry to keep Vita Student buildings operating to the highest standards. The role is customer-facing, with responsibilities across plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, and general repairs in a fast-paced student environment.

The position offers a permanent contract, 42.5 hours per week, and a £28,500 annual salary plus bonus. Flexibility around hours may be offered and a range of company benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive and corrective fire alarm and firefighting system maintenance.
• Skilled across a variety of maintenance functions.
• Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance in similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• IT literate.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and address issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, and furniture.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities and perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Carry out general repairs (leaks, broken fixtures, doors, walls).
• Replace flooring, repair furniture, and touch-up painting & decorating.
• Perform ground works and upkeep of outdoor areas (grass-cutting, hedge-trimming).
• Follow safety regulations and procedures for all maintenance tasks.
