Position Title: Facilities/Maintenance Tech Engineer

Duration: Contract

Location: Whitley

Division: Engineering Operations

About the company: I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Whitley, who are seeking a Facilities/Maintenance Tech Engineer to join their team.

Position Description:

  • This role is within the Cross Functional Test Facilities Team, part of Engineering Operations (EO).
  • The team provides facilities support to the Test Operations team, aiming for timely, quality product releases by supporting the overall Product cycle plan.
  • You will work across various sites (Whitley, Gaydon, Ansty Park, Lyons Park).
  • Supporting EO activities under EO-10026 for our Client.
  • The role's purpose is to ensure the safe, smooth, efficient, and effective operation of the EO Test Facilities used for Product Development.
  • You must demonstrate safe working practices aligned with the Company's Destination Zero policies and understand your responsibilities in the workplace.

Skills Required:

  • A Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or relevant experience.
  • Experience with facilities, processes, equipment, and leading technologies (e.g., problem solving control systems).
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Experience Required:

  • A Level 4 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or relevant experience.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science.
  • Experience with facilities, processes, equipment, and leading technologies.
  • Experience in problem solving control systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to challenge existing thinking positively, building credibility and trust.
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instructions and interface well with customers.
  • Ability to work quickly and pay attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving license.

Experience Preferred:

  • Technical expertise with test facilities and control systems (e.g., AVL, ABB, Horiba).
  • Knowledge of Fuels.
  • Experience with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 standards.
  • Problem solving qualification.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements, risk assessments, COSHH, SDS.
  • Knowledge of fluid controls, ventilation systems, chilled fluids.
