Facilities and Maintenance Manager is a senior position within Littelfuse Chippenham with responsibility for the day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of plant equipment and on-site services to support the business. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the management of the organization’s office and factory facilities including front of house, production, clean room, maintenance, and contracted services. The job holder will be required to negotiate and manage contracted services both pre and post-contract.
Ab out the job:
General
Providing support and services for all departments, as required
Ensure the efficient use of resources within the Maintenance Group, driving a preventative methodology
Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
Managing a department budget, to achieve maximum value for money and develop the business
Premises & Equipment
Overall responsibility for the monitoring and maintenance of production and plant equipment
Drive forward the existing TPM framework across all areas of the business
Project manage equipment refurbishment and installations, produce structured reports to identify equipment deficiencies
Identify requirements for holding spare parts, ensuring adequate supplies are held for key processes and plant equipment
Space Management through planning the best allocation and utilization of existing space and resources for re-organising current premises
Services
Timely reviews of existing on-site services or specifications
Ensure all maintenance contracts are correctly negotiated and managed
Project manage, supervise and co-ordinate the work of contractors
Risk, governance and compliance
Regularly carry out Risk Assessments
Possess a working knowledge of HSE, IOSH or NEBOSH risk criteria
Propose and manage corrective actions, including preventative maintenance plans, modified designs and replacement proposals
Be the company’s nominated Responsible Person for Fire Safety , Asbestos and Legionella Management
Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality Policies and that the entire facility complies with up to date legislation
Leadership
Demonstrate strong, dynamic leadership with proven track record of delivering results
Perceptive leader with real passion for building a strong team
Develop and inspire the team using excellent communication and influencing skills
Develop key team members, strengthen bespoke equipment design team
About you:
Educated to degree level or equivalent with experience in a facilities management role
NEBOSH IOSH awareness or certification is desirable
Previous experience in a senior facilities & maintenance role, in a manufacturing environment
In-depth TPM understanding and experience
Flexible and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Committed to continuous improvement, development and effectiveness of the team
Willingness to work additional hours occasionally to meet deadlines
Ambition to continually drive the business forward
Forward-thinking with the ability to think outside the box
