TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliableindividuals to work as Hub Operators based in the Estates & FacilitiesControl room at St James Hospital in Leeds.
Areyou self-motivated and a flexible team player who can follow setprocesses? Do you have excellentcustomer service and IT skills and ability to work under strict timescalesand pressure. Do you have experiencein control room/dispatch or call centre roles?
Permanentfull time vacancies ( 37.5 hours per week) are currently available,supporting the 24 hour service provision (including bank holidays)
Shiftpatterns are flexible but can include 0700-1900 and 1900-0700 rotating on a 4on/4 off pattern or could be Mon-Fri dependent upon the needs of the servicewith rosters provided in advance.
Thejob package includes:-
Acompetitive salary Band 3 £24,071 - £25,674 + enhancements for unsocialhours
Annualleave starting at 27 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays rising to 33days with service.

Theroles provides the following services to the Trust:-
- CCTV operation/monitoring
- Access control
- Alarms response
- Management of task managementsystem and the control and dispatching of Tasks for Security, portering,cleaning, patient transport, estates etc.
- Internal/external communicationwith wards/departments, emergency services etc.
- Operation of control room equipment
- Support the supervisory role in theabsence of the Co-ordinator

Day to day operation of the HubControl room to provide support and guidance to Estates & Facilitiesteams and to assist them to meet theneeds of staff, patients, visitors, whilst ensuring the protection ofTrust.
Carry out the urgent and non-urgentsystem checks to ensure that equipment is fully functional and complete theequipment records logs. Keep accurate and detailed logs/records of allrepairs and maintenance of the Hub Control room equipment and systems.
Assist the Duty Hub Co-ordinatorwith the supervision of the deployment of Estates & Facilities staff toensure that the needs of the each service are met with the regulated andprioritised deployment of various staff - Portering/Cleaning/Security/Estatesetc. To ensure the Hub control room,oversees and escalates any urgent traffic management car park management,,roving patrol and vehicle enforcement are met.
Maintain regular radiocommunication with all staff and ensure that staff follow the correct radioprocedures and protocols. In the case of the roving patrol and other staff inlone worker situations, ensure that routine and regular contact is made and recordedto support safe working practices.
Carry out formal documentedhandover sessions with control room staff at the change of each shift for thepurpose of updating on the days activities and briefing on any outstanding orkey issues.
Ensure that detailed, accurate andtimely records are kept on all incidents and activities using either paperbased or computer based systems.
To liaise and respond to requestsfrom colleagues and external agencies when requested to provide informationcovering recorded material and to view and select information from suchmaterial as required all in accordance with the relevant Trust policies andprocedures.
To report incidents or potentialincidents to the colleagues and external agencies which includes thereporting of issues, crimes and incidents taking place, persons or vehiclesacting suspiciously, reporting premises or vehicles affected by crime
The taking of system requests,prioritising the work and appropriate allocation of duties to team members,including the use of IT communication systems.
Provide effective technical supportto the Security and Traffic services in a safe and secure environment forstaff, patients, visitors and Trust assets.
Ensure that line management aremade aware of any serious incidents.
Follow Trust, Directorate andDepartmental policies and procedures for booking annual leave, changes torota and sickness reporting.
Strictly adhere to the Directoratesdress code and wear the appropriate uniform/PPE for the duties being carried.
Assist with the production ofEmergency out of hours access cards.
Support Security Services with thesafe storage and release of Emergency designated keys to ensure safe accessand egress in highly restricted areas.
Assist in promoting initiatives fortackling violence and aggression against staff and health care professionalswithin the Trust (Zero Tolerance initiative), through innovation, education,prevention and detection routes, along with close working relationships withthe Police and other external agencies.
Act at all times to strengthen theprofessional status of the Facilities Hub within the Trust.
Attend staff briefings and keepfully updated with matters affecting the Trust, Directorate and Department byregular reference to bulletins, notices, emails, etc which are displayed onall staff communication notice boards.
Attend all mandatory, refresher andinternal training courses.
Deputise for the Hub Co-ordinatorwhen required and in their absence.
