Job summary

Moderna in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced facilities engineering leader to shape the long‑term reliability and compliance of R&D Clinical Laboratory facilities. You will oversee infrastructure, utilities, and systems, coordinating global teams and partners to drive maintenance excellence and innovative asset management.

With a background in biotech/pharma engineering and GMP experience, you’ll lead maintenance programs, support major capital initiatives, and mentor a cross‑functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of facilities/engineering experience in biotech/pharma with GMP.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Structured problem-solving approach to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience with CMMS and enterprise information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership of building infrastructure, utilities, and facility systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and GxP requirements.
• Manage performance of engineering service partners and drive improvements.
• Lead maintenance and engineering activities across the site with internal and external teams.
• Develop a maintenance strategy including plans and asset reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Global teams to implement maintenance strategies and job plans.
• Lead site improvement initiatives within budget, quality, and schedule targets.
• Support major projects including shutdowns and capital projects.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and identify improvement opportunities.
• Champion continuous improvement and inspection-ready culture.
