Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is hiring a Facilities Engineer (Electrical) to maintain critical infrastructure in our new £250 million DryCool manufacturing site. Qualifications

  • Apprentice training with City & Guilds 2365 NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition qualification.
  • 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building services and infrastructure up to 415 V.
  • Experience with life safety systems, CCTV and access control.
  • Experience with CMMS and digital maintenance tools.
  • Able to diagnose faults and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support site electrical infrastructure in line with BS7671 and safety.
  • Design, review and implement electrical system improvements.
  • Monitor building systems via BMS and improve reliability.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform planned maintenance using CMMS.
  • Record activities to support KPI reporting.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors safely.
  • Raise permits and support safe systems of work.
  • Manage procurement and relate invoicing.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and support uptime.
  • Collaborate across teams to minimise disruption.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support wider facilities, maintenance and engineering teams.

About The Role
As a Facilities Engineer (Electrical), you will play a vital role in supporting the electrical infrastructure and facility services within our new Bicester manufacturing site. This newly created position offers a diverse mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault finding, project support, contractor management and continuous improvement activities. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you'll help ensure facility systems remain safe, reliable and efficient, enabling our manufacturing operations to perform at their best. This is a hands-on role offering genuine responsibility and the opportunity to influence how a world-class facility evolves over time. The role also includes participation in an on-call rota, providing support for critical breakdowns and operational issues outside standard working hours when required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintaining and supporting site electrical infrastructure in accordance with BS7671 regulations and health and safety best practice.
  • Assisting with the design, review and implementation of electrical systems and infrastructure improvements to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Monitoring building systems and utilities through Building Management Systems (BMS) and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
  • Responding to faults and equipment failures, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance activities through the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Recording maintenance activities accurately to support KPI reporting and asset management.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for facilities-related concerns from employees and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and supervising contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Raising permits and supporting safe systems of work for contractor activities.
  • Managing procurement activities including raising orders, approving completed work and supporting invoice processes.
  • Maintaining appropriate spare parts inventory levels to minimise operational downtime.
  • Building strong relationships across the business to ensure facilities activities are delivered with minimal disruption.
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and reliability.
  • Supporting wider facilities, maintenance and engineering teams as required.

What Skills And Experience You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a collaborative and proactive approach. You'll ideally have:

  • Apprentice training supported by City & Guilds 2365 NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building services and infrastructure up to 415 volts.
  • Experience of life safety systems, CCTV and access control systems.
  • A proven track record of electrical maintenance, fault finding and problem solving within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems and digital maintenance tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • The confidence to work independently while also contributing as part of a wider team.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support multidisciplinary engineering activities when required.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning, development and continuous improvement.
