East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting for a waste audits administrator at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal. You will join a team delivering comprehensive waste audits and report findings to the Waste Manager and facilities colleagues.
The role is 37.5 hours over 5 days, providing administration support and preparing audit reports. You will collect data, maintain Excel sheets and assist with audit discussions with management.
To work as part of a team carrying out comprehensive waste audits. To be responsible for the reporting on the data to the Waste Manager, service users and colleagues both within the Facilities Team and across the organisation. Providing administration support to the Waste Manager This role will be 37.5 hours over 5 days., To undertake waste audits across all areas at the Westmorland General Hospital in line with the National Heath Technical Memorandum 07-01 Safe and Sustainable Management of Healthcare Waste To collect the data from the waste audits and upload into Microsoft excel spreadsheets. To prepare audit reports, discuss findings including feedback of any issues or concerns identified in the audit with the management team for that area.Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £55.38 and for a Standard Disclosure will be £27.38.
