Facilities Assistant - Porter/Domestic

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Facilities Team at Sherwood Oaks Hospital. You will be responsible for Portering and cleaning all our patient and non patient areas.

Previous experience of working within a Domestic or Cleaning environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

We have in-house training to help your personal development plans and will support you with all of your training needs.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change.

This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. Main duties of the job

Facilities Assistants/Domestic Assistants should have the ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team. Maintaining a high standard of work will be essential.

Working hours:

7.33 hrs/weekCore hours 08:00 - 18:00Shift to be worked are 08:00 - 13:30 and 12:00 - 18:00Weekends only, no Bank Holidays.Working pattern - 2 x weekends on and 1 x weekend off.

This vacancy will work on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.

Applicants may be required to cover other units where necessary.

Please note applicants willbe requiredto pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

Qualifications
  • An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or to work towards within the 12 months of employment (site specific)
  • Understanding of a small number of routine work procedures developed through on the job training / experience.
Training
  • Ability to undertake all mandatory training as required by the individual site
  • Ability to undertake any necessary skills and competency training required by the post
Experience
  • Able to carry out instructions as detailed in the job description
  • Experience or working within a catering, portering or cleaning environment
  • Experience of working within healthcare environment
  • Experience of working within a food safety management system
