Job summary

Empower Youth Zones in Manchester and Salford is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the Building and Facilities Manager in daily operations, maintenance, cleanliness, safety and landscaping of the Youth Zone. The role aims to keep the building and outdoor spaces safe, welcoming and inspiring for young people, staff, volunteers and visitors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, repairs, planned maintenance support, and contractor liaison.
• Support compliance checks, fire safety systems, risk reporting, and record keeping.
• Assist with opening and closing, conduct security checks, and respond to alarms and incidents.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, waste management, and stock control.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for activities, meetings, and events.
• Provide a friendly and professional service to young people, visitors, staff, and volunteers.
• Grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, leaf clearance, and landscaping tasks.
