Interaction Recruitment PLC in Taunton is seeking a reliable Facilities Assistant to join a busy team. The role covers cleaning, basic maintenance and making sure public spaces are clean, safe and well presented.

You will carry out routine checks, assist with events and outdoor activities, and respond to maintenance issues. The job requires flexibility, a full UK driving licence and a practical, hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience.
• Good understanding of health and safety and COSHH.
• Basic maintenance skills and experience using hand or power tools.
• Good communication skills and a helpful, professional attitude.
• Basic IT skills, including Outlook or Microsoft Teams.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible approach to working hours.
• The physical ability to carry out manual duties and work outdoors.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsabilités

• Cleaning and maintaining public toilets, pavilions and other facilities.
• Carrying out routine inspections and minor maintenance repairs.
• Keeping buildings and surrounding areas clean, tidy and presentable.
• Responding to graffiti, vandalism, weeds, fly-posting and general untidiness.
• Completing routine safety and maintenance checks, including water temperatures and emergency lighting.
• Removing litter and dealing with fly-tipping where safe and appropriate.
• Helping set up equipment and furniture for events and activities.
• Supporting outdoor events with litter picking and assisting with road closures when required.
• Maintaining tools, equipment and vehicles and completing daily vehicle checks.
• Recording completed work and reporting issues that require further attention.
• Following health and safety procedures and using PPE correctly.
