A heritage conservation organization is seeking a Facilities Assistant to maintain the condition of its properties and deliver top-notch visitor experiences. Your tasks will involve cleaning facilities, performing light maintenance, and engaging with the public. This role offers various working hours across two contract types with benefits like a pension scheme and flexible working.
This role is all about using your practical skills and attention to detail to look after a place that people love. We're looking for a Facilities Assistant at Nostell Priory to help keep the whole place in good condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.
Hours : This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract. Includes some weekends and bank holidays.

This 18th century Palladian house is set within 300-acres of parkland. The ambitious team are focused on making Nostell Priory one of Yorkshire’s most high profile visitor attractions and are looking for creative hard‑working people who will bring ideas and energy to the property. The property is situated a short distance from bustling Wakefield, meaning the property offers a rare opportunity to work in the country, but live in the city.
You’ll help with the day-to-day presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll be turning your hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor bits of maintenance, making sure that all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.
Duties such as cleaning the visitor facilities, sweeping and litter‑picking, both inside and outdoors form a core part of this role. You’ll be aiming for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after, and this includes speaking to people as they visit and helping them with any queries. You might also get involved with general maintenance work and helping other teams if they need extra support.
