Job summary

Tempest Resourcing Limited is recruiting a Facilities Assistant to join the site team at a nursery and primary school in Winson Green, Birmingham. The successful candidate will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

We are seeking a practical, hands-on individual who can carry out maintenance and DIY tasks, open and lock up the premises, support with events and deliveries, and complete basic safety checks and repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Handyperson.
• Hands-on, practical, and capable of basic maintenance and DIY.
• Reliable, well-organised and able to work independently.
• Flexible with early starts and occasional late finishes.
• Able to work in a school environment and with pupils.
• Immediate start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking up the school premises
• Carrying out security and site checks
• Supporting with general maintenance and minor repairs
• Completing basic DIY and maintenance tasks
• Moving furniture and assisting with event and classroom set-ups

Are you an experienced Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Handyperson looking for an immediate opportunity in Birmingham?

We are currently recruiting a Facilities Assistant to join the site team at a nursery and primary school in Winson Green, Birmingham.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and locking up the school premises

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced as a Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Handyperson or similar
• Practical, hands-on and confident carrying out basic maintenance and DIY
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Flexible with early starts and occasional late finishes
• Able to work well around children and within a school environment
• Ideally experienced within a school or educational setting
• Able to start immediately

DBS Requirement

An Enhanced DBS is required for this role. Candidates with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service are particularly welcome. Candidates without a current DBS may be considered if they are able to apply immediately.
