Job Title: Part-Time Facilities Officer

We are seeking a Part-Time Facilities Officer to join our building services team in Scotland.

Responsibilities

As a Facilities Officer, you will provide facilities support within the Midlothian Schools PPP2 cluster. Your duties will include managing events via Helpdesk, security, reception, portering, and caretaking services, as well as maintenance activities. You will be part of a roster of Facilities Assistants, available for Call Out in case of intruder or fire alarm calls, and will provide reception/security cover for out-of-hours lets.

Key Tasks
  • Provide security cover, including acting as a site key holder and performing security checks on windows, doors, perimeter gates, and fences.
  • Conduct regular inspections of toilets, corridors, and school grounds.
  • Set intruder alarms and manage reception duties.
  • Manage signing in of subcontractors and booking permit holders for lets.
  • Operate BMS, Access Control, and CCTV equipment, including monitoring CCTV at barriers and reception doors.
  • Assist with portering and caretaking duties such as moving parcels, paperwork, materials, and equipment around the buildings.
  • Support minor and major moves within the school and set up conference rooms for meetings, including staging and retractable seating arrangements.
Additional Requirements

The successful candidate will need to obtain Disclosure Scotland PVG membership for children and adults.
