Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Facilities Assistant to support day-to-day facilities services at the Fylde Office, Preston, Mon–Fri, 8am–4pm. You will help manage cleaning, security, helpdesk and mail movement and assist with small maintenance tasks.

The role is hands-on, requires a practical mindset, strong organisation and customer-focused service for building users and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK and be willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
  • A full UK driving licence (where required).
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to carry out physical tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and overseeing delivery of Cleaning Services, Tech Services, Security, Helpdesk, Job Management, and other service lines as required.
  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery across FM, ensuring tasks are completed within timescales.
  • Support Facilities Manager to ensure tasks follow company processes and procedures.
  • Supervise and coordinate work of in-house teams.
  • Complete low-level PPMs e.g. water temp checks, emergency lighting checks, fire alarm testing.
  • Complete regular stocktakes of stationary and hospitality and place orders as required.
  • Organise site log books, reports and PPM documentation.
  • Carry out basic reactive maintenance and handyman tasks via Helpdesk.
  • Understand contracts and maintain strong organisational skills.

About The Role

Days of Working: This position will be based at Fylde Office, Preston working Mon - Fri, 8am - 4pm - 30 minutes unpaid break each day.


We are seeking a proactive and reliable Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across the site. This is a hands-on and varied role, essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment, while ensuring a high standard of service for building users and visitors.


You will play a key role in supporting the smooth movement of goods, equipment, and mail, as well as assisting with general facilities tasks. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a practical role, takes pride in their work, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.


As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to


  • Supporting and overseeing effective delivery of Cleaning Services, Tech Services, Security, Helpdesk, Job Management, and other service lines / ad hoc areas as required.

  • Oversee day to day service delivery across the FM, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the required timescales

  • Support the Facilities Manager to ensure all tasks are completed within the company processes and procedures

  • Supervising and coordinating work of in-house teams

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

  • Previous experience in a facilities, porter, logistics, or similar role
