Job summary

JDR Recruitment is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support outdoor markets across the Kirklees district, including Huddersfield and Dewsbury. The role involves opening/closing facilities, setting up stalls, and assisting visitors and traders with high service standards.

The ideal candidate will have facilities/maintenance experience, be comfortable outdoors in all weather, and able to travel between sites. This is a temporary 6-month contract with the potential to extend or go permanent.

Facilities Assistant - Outdoor Markets

£13.05 per hour paid weekly!

Full time hours, working 5 out of 7 days

We're recruiting for a Facilities Assistant to work on behalf of the local authority, the successful candidate will be working across the outdoor markets within the Kirklees district. This is a varied role in which you'll be providing frontline operational support to visitors and traders, as well as supporting with the facilities and manual work.

The successful candidate will need a valid drivers licence to travel to different locations within Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

What you'll be doing -

• Opening, securing and closing market facilities.
• Setting up and dismantling market stalls and equipment.
• Supporting traders, customers and visitors with excellent customer service.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across market sites.
• Undertaking basic maintenance and operational checks.

What we're looking for -

• Previous experience within a facilities/maintenance role
• Able to provide a high level of customer service
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather types
• Able to work in a physically active/manual handling environment
• Able to travel between sites in the Kirklees area

This is a temporary contract role for the next 6 months at least, with potential to go permanent or extend depending on business requirements.
