About the Role We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Assistant to help deliver essential support services across our council buildings. This varied and rewarding role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, organised, and working with colleagues and various teams. As part of the team, you'll help ensure that our workplaces operate efficiently by supporting post and courier services, print operations, room setups, building checks, and a range of facilities activities that enable our employees and services to perform at their best. The Facilities Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of council buildings by delivering reliable courier, postal, print, and facilities services. You will help ensure that important documents, equipment, and materials are delivered safely and efficiently while contributing to a positive workplace experience for staff, elected members, visitors, and customers. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills who enjoys working with a wide range of colleagues and customers. You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. A reliable, flexible, and positive approach to work is essential, along with good attention to detail when handling documents, mail, deliveries, and other important items. The successful candidate will be comfortable carrying out physical tasks, including moving furniture, equipment, parcels, and supplies safely. You will have basic IT skills, confidence in using workplace technology, and a good understanding of health and safety requirements.
