Job summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Assistant at the Hellingly Centre to maintain cleanliness and assist with patient meals. The role covers environmental cleaning across the site, food handling for daily meals, and strict infection prevention and control measures.

It is a full-time position, 37.5 hours over five mornings starting at 07:00, suitable for unsupervised or team work. Candidates should have maths and English functional skills; full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum and damp mop floors
• Damp dust furniture and fittings
• Clean mirrors and internal glass
• Clean sanitary ware such as baths, showers, sinks and toilets
• Wash tiled surfaces and paintwork
• High dust walls and ceilings
• Handle and assist with daily patient meal service
• Prepare meals for service to food safety standards
• Follow infection prevention and control standards at all times
• Deliver high standards of environmental cleaning
