Job summary

Riddlesdown Collegiate is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join the facilities team. The role focuses on keeping buildings and grounds safe, clean and well maintained through practical caretaking and routine checks.

No prior building maintenance experience is required, with an enhanced DBS check in place and visa sponsorship not available. You will be responsible for maintenance tasks, early fault spotting, site access control, working with contractors, and conducting safety checks and risk

Job description

The Facilities Assistant sits within the facilities team at Riddlesdown Collegiate, a secondary school rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2023, and works alongside the Facilities Manager. The core of the job is keeping buildings and grounds safe, clean and well maintained through caretaking, repairs, spotting faults early and carrying out safety checks. It is hands‑on and practical, and prior building maintenance experience is not required. An enhanced DBS check is needed, and visa sponsorship is not available.
