An opportunity has become available for enthusiastic, self-motivated persons to join the Facilities Services department to deliver front line services to patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Facilities Assistant is a combined role delivering Catering & Housekeeping Services within the Cancer Centre, working in line with national cleaning standards and food safety legislation.

The successful candidates will be expected to undertake all main tasks in line with the Job Description, working within the values and behaviours of Velindre University Trust.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Knowledge

• Good knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and HACCP food safety management systems
• NVQ Level 2 in food & drink

Experience

• Previous catering or cleaning experience, especially in a care environment (ward & dining room/coffee shop)

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2; NVQ Level 2 in cleaning; willingness to work towards the All Wales Facilities Apprenticeship Qualification
