Facilities and Charity Support Assistant

Candlelighters

The Candlelighters charity is seeking a team player to join the Finance and Operations Team to ensure the charity has the necessary infrastructure and equipment to support families affected by childhood cancer.

Salary: £21,000 – £22,000 depending on experience, FTE – pro-rata for part-time hours

21 hours per week over a minimum of 3 days

Job location: Office-based, with occasional remote work options

Principal Responsibilities

The role is flexible and will evolve with the charity's needs, but core duties include:

  • Supporting the Operations and Charity Support Officer in maintaining properties to a high standard.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, managing donations, and donor communications.

Specific tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance, complying with health and safety standards.
  • Supporting facilities management to meet the needs of staff and visitors.
  • Managing merchandise sales, purchases, and orders.
  • Updating stakeholder and financial records in databases and ledgers.
  • Providing administrative support like thank you letters and certificates.
  • Processing donations and recording them in the CRM system.

What we’re looking for:
  • A proactive, hands-on individual with DIY and maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work independently with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and outgoing, with good relationship-building skills.

This role requires an enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
