Job description

We are currently seeking a Facilities and Estates Operative to join our team in Blackburn. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, landscaping, and general property upkeep. You'll provide essential services including window cleaning, minor repairs, waste removal, and environmental inspections across multiple sites.(In this role, you will primarily collaborate with the cleaning team and be responsible for performing cleaning-related duties)

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities for the Facilities and Estates Operative...

  • Work within different teams on all aspects of cleaning and waste management.
  • Carry out routine cleaning of all internal and external communal areas, ensuring these areas are left clean, safe and attractive for our customers; using a combination of hand tools, power tools and chemical agents when required.
  • When required assistant in the removal of graffiti, fly tipped waste on the organisations land.
  • Undertake a range of minor repairs to communal properties, gardens and the wider estate including planned deep cleaning. Ensure that access footpaths are kept free from hazards and/or obstructions.
  • Adaptability and flexibility, responsible for working in service areas across the team as required, cleaning, waste & house removals and general duties associated with estate management.
  • To promptly and effectively handle on-site customer inquiries while communicating clearly and efficiently at all levels.
  • Plans and organises workload to meet deadlines in line with the departmental service plans.

We are looking for someone who has...

  • A full manual UK driving license
  • Practical experience of working in a Cleaning & Caretaking service
  • Practical knowledge of and ability to operate Cleaning and Waste equipment and machinery
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy to enable accurate record keeping
  • Excellent customer service skills
