A charitable organisation for emergency response is seeking a Facilitator to lead first aid training sessions for young people aged 11 to 25. You will work with community organisations to deliver impactful training while providing mentorship to volunteers. The role is casual and requires travel. Competitive hourly rate of £12.60 is offered, along with benefits including holidays and health support.
Young Responders is an exciting project that started delivering street first aid sessions in 2023 as part of St John Ambulance. The project aims to engage and empower young people from diverse communities facing health inequities through practical first aid and mental awareness sessions. The programme targets young people aged 11 to 25, focusing on those who typically do not access traditional first aid training.
In 2023, the Young Responders team delivered sessions to nearly 16,000 young people, with plans to reach a further 25,000 in 2024. The goal is to expand this impact further.
As a Facilitator, you will support the growth of the service by leading and delivering first aid training sessions with community organisations and educational settings. You will also provide pastoral support, mentoring, and guidance to volunteers, ensuring their welfare and wellbeing. This is a casual hourly role covering the entire region, so travel is essential.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a large team dedicated to saving lives through first aid training and services. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and support networks such as Multi-Culture, Disability and Accessibility, Pride, Family and Carers, and Women's groups.
