Role Overview:

The role involves overseeing all on-site construction activities related to façade and envelope works, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality delivery in line with project requirements.

The Project:

The £260m major mixed-use scheme will provide 91 private apartments and 30 affordable and shared ownership apartments within two blocks rising to 11 storeys, over new commercial space and parking on the lower ground floors. Located in Kings Cross, between the Regents Canal and St Pancras Hospital, it will feature 30,000 sqft of co-working office space and 121 new homes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. On-Site Management: Supervise and manage all façade construction activities on-site, ensuring alignment with project schedules and objectives.
  2. Technical Coordination: Work with the Façade Project Manager and design team to resolve technical issues, support subcontractors, and manage interfaces between façade works and other construction elements.
  3. Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and audits; ensure adherence to risk assessments and promote safety culture.
  4. Quality Assurance: Monitor construction processes to meet specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  5. Coordination: Liaise with the Façade Project Manager and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders for smooth operations.
  6. Progress Monitoring: Track progress against the program and report regularly.
  7. Problem Solving: Address on-site challenges and escalate issues as needed.
  8. Material Management: Oversee delivery, storage, and usage of façade materials efficiently and cost-effectively.
  9. Documentation: Keep accurate records of site activities, inspections, and safety audits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or MSc in Construction/Project Management
  • SMSTS certification
  • Familiarity with CWCT standards and building regulations, including Part B
  • Knowledge of QA systems, ideally Field View
