Job summary

A leading structural steel fabrication company in Carnwath is seeking skilled Fabricators and Fitters to join their new trailer manufacturing division. Successful candidates will enjoy competitive pay, stable employment, and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include trailer frame fabrication, MIG welding, and quality checks. Ideal applicants will have proven experience in fabrication, along with a proactive attitude towards quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a fabricator and/or fitter in trailers, HGVs, or similar.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication of trailer chassis, frames, and components.
• MIG welding of steel to a high standard.
• Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components.
• Cut, shape and assemble metal parts.
• Install hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems as required.
• Perform quality inspections and rectification during build.

As part of our expansion into trailer manufacturing, we are looking to recruit skilled Fabricators and Fitters to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved from the ground up, helping establish and develop a new manufacturing operation focused on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Main duties will include but not limited to:

• Fabrication of trailer chassis, frames, and components
• MIG welding of steel to a high standard
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
• Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
• Assembly and fitting of trailer components (axles, brakes, suspension, electrics, bodywork)
• Installation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems where required
• Fault finding and rectification during build stages
• Final build checks and quality inspections

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a fabricator and/or fitter (ideally in trailers, HGVs, plant, or similar industries)
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• A proactive, team-focused attitude
• Commitment to health & safety

Desirable (but not essential):

• Welding qualifications (MIG/TIG)
• Experience with trailer or vehicle builds
• Forklift or overhead crane certification
