MERITUS are recruiting a Fabricator / Welder to join our client within the Systems Integration sphere to support clients across Aerospace, Manufacturing, FMCG and Agriculture.

Fabricator/welder duties include reading drawings, performing MIG welding and sheet metal forming to tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment. The role offers a stable long-term position with a focus on accuracy and quality workmanship, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
• Strong MIG welding experience; TIG/spot welding beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
• Knowledge of bend allowances and tolerances.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding desirable.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal components.
• Carry out sheet metal forming and bending, including correct bend allowance calculations.
• Perform MIG welding (and TIG or spot welding where required).
• Manufacture components to tight dimensional tolerances.
• Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards with minimal rework.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Support wider production and fabrication activities as required by the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.

FABRICATOR / WELDER - £28,000 - £35,000 PER ANNUM - TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE - FAST PROCESS - SECTOR: AEROSPACE / SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

You’ll be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances.

The role involves both fabrication and welding activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality workmanship.

About You

We’re looking for a skilled fabricator with strong hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
• Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/spot welding beneficial).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
• Good understanding of bend allowances, tolerances and material behaviour.
• Ability to work accurately to tight specifications.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent) desirable.
