Job description

We’re looking for skilled Fabricators/Welders to join the production team at a well-established engineering company in Sandbach, Cheshire.

The Company

A leading subcontract engineering company supplying components of various sizes, utilizing innovative technology due to ongoing investment.

They specialize in equipment for construction, automotive, nuclear, recycling, railway, and other general engineering industries. Located just 5 minutes from junction 17 of the M6 motorway in Cheshire, they ensure timely deliveries across the UK using their own fleet.

The company is accredited to the following quality standards:

  • IATF 16949:2016
  • ISO 9001:2015

They boast a highly skilled workforce and state-of-the-art CNC equipment, including lasers, press brakes, machining, and robotic welding with a capacity of up to 5 tonnes. They also have a separate pre-treatment and powder coating facility, providing a turnkey solution for customers. Their operations are supported by advanced CAD/CAM software and business systems.

The Role

Manufacturing steel frames, structures, and sheet metal fabrications through welding and fabrication. Responsibilities include interpreting sketches and data, conducting dimensional inspections, and ensuring work meets exact tolerances. The role involves MIG/TIG welding on steel to a high standard.

Please note: A weld test will be conducted prior to the interview. Candidates should bring their own weld masks for the test at our factory.

Experience and Skills

Experience in MIG/TIG welding.

The Offer
  • Pay Range: £10.50 to £15.00 per hour (dependent on skills and experience)
  • Hours: Typically 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 12:30 Friday; shift patterns may vary based on customer demands. Shift allowances are provided.
  • Overtime: Available but not guaranteed.
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Incentives for new starters, achievable within the first year:
    • £100 at the end of the first month
    • £400 at three months (successful probation)
    • £500 at 12 months

Total potential incentive: £1,000 in the first year.
