Job summary

The Fox in Peterborough is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our production team. You will read drawings, set up materials, and perform TIG welding of stainless steel fabrications to exacting standards.

With experience in workshop fabrication and operating saws, shears, and press brakes, you will help us deliver high-quality kitchen extraction components while upholding safety and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering blueprints and welding symbols.
• Solid experience in stainless steel fabrication.
• Ability to meet strict tolerances and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Preparing materials by measuring, marking out, cutting, drilling, bending, and shaping metal.
• Performing TIG welding and assembly of stainless steel fabrications.
• Operating workshop machinery such as saws, shears and press brakes.
• Inspecting and finishing products to ensure quality.

Job description

In this position, you will work both independently and as part of a team to bring engineering drawings to life. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.


• Preparing materials by measuring, marking out, cutting, drilling, bending, and shaping metal sheets, plates, and structural sections.


• High-quality TIG welding and assembly of stainless steel fabrications.


• Operating workshop machinery including saws, shears, and press brakes.


• Inspecting and finishing products (grinding, polishing) to ensure they meet strict quality tolerances and safety standards.
