Job description

EQUANS is seeking a Fabricator Welder to join our team at Heysham Power Station on a permanent basis for EDF. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Description:

Fabricate and repair metal structures such as access platforms, gratings, ladders, and handrails. Duties may include maintenance and repair of metal doors, including Nuclear Significant Safety Doors.

Technical Competence:
  • Methodical approach to tasks and accurate planning
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and plans
  • Numerical skills for measurements and calculations
  • Knowledge of mechanical fabrication
  • Safe operation of basic hand and power tools
Industry Qualifications:
  • City & Guilds Fabrication & Welding or Recognised Apprenticeship
  • Health and Safety Level One including COSHH
  • Manual Handling
  • Abrasive Wheels
  • EDF - Safe Unescorted Access to Site
  • Radiation and Contamination Area Entry (EIRCA & EICCA)
  • Confined Spaces WICS
  • Hot Works Assessor
  • Competent Person

Additional training may be required based on operational needs.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prioritize work with supervisors to meet client specifications
  • Ensure compliance with safety, technical, and environmental regulations
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Establish good teamwork and communication, providing guidance to others
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, including risk assessments and PPE usage
