• Minimum five years' supervisory experience in fabrication/engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise day-to-day activities within the fabrication facility to achieve production targets and deadlines.
• Lead, support and motivate the fabrication workforce, maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and other departments.
• Issue and communicate engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to ensure accurate work.
• Monitor production activities for compliance with project requirements and quality plans.
• Coordinate labour, materials, consumables, equipment and plant to support schedules.
• Inspect completed work to ensure high standards and report non-conformances.
• Work with QA and management to address issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure permits to work, risk assessments and safe systems of work are followed.
• Promote safe operation of fabrication and welding machinery and ensure PPE compliance.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and report hazards.
• Ensure adherence to procedures, PPE use and health, safety and quality standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and workplace inspections.
• Report accidents or near misses and support investigations.
• Identify opportunities to improve fabrication processes, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Support wider production team with additional operational duties as required.

The Opportunity

Right Hire Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to join an established engineering and fabrication business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor with a strong background in fabrication and engineering to lead day-to-day activities within a busy fabrication facility.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining production schedules, ensuring high-quality workmanship, promoting safe working practices and supporting the efficient delivery of projects.

We are looking for someone who can lead and motivate a team, coordinate resources effectively and ensure work is completed in line with technical specifications, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities within the fabrication facility to ensure production targets and project deadlines are achieved.
• Lead, support and motivate the fabrication workforce, maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, quality control personnel and other departments.
• Issue and communicate relevant engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and work instructions to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality plans, inspection procedures and technical specifications.
• Coordinate labour, materials, consumables, equipment and plant to support production schedules.
• Inspect completed work to ensure high standards of workmanship and identify, report and support the resolution of any non-conformances.
• Work closely with quality assurance and management teams to address issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure relevant permits to work, risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place and followed.
• Promote the safe operation of fabrication and welding machinery, including rollers, pedestal drills, profiling equipment and overhead cranes where required.
• Ensure tools, equipment and machinery are suitable for the task and properly inspected before use.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Ensure employees follow company procedures, wear the appropriate PPE and work in accordance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and workplace inspections to promote a positive safety culture.
• Ensure accidents, incidents, injuries and near misses are reported promptly and support investigations where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve fabrication processes, productivity, quality and operational efficiency.
• Support the wider production team with additional operational duties as required.

Skills and Experience Required

• A minimum of five years' relevant experience in a similar supervisory role within the fabrication or engineering industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Previous experience supervising and coordinating a fabrication workforce.
• The ability to organise workloads, allocate resources and manage competing production priorities.
• A strong understanding of quality control, inspection processes and non-conformance reporting.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements within an engineering or fabrication environment.
• Experience with fabrication machinery, tools and workshop equipment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team and work effectively with other departments.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on maintaining production standards and meeting deadlines.
• A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
