FABRICATION SITE FITTER - ENVIRONMENT

DERBY

Please note that a full UK Driving Licence is required for the role due to the need to drive a company vehicle and the remote locations of some sites, which are not accessible by public transport.

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Fabrication Site Fitter to join Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will be based in or around Derby and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.

You will work within our Environment Business, experienced in delivering schemes of varying sizes, mainly in the Water Industry, across Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Within the role, you will:

  • Work as part of a two-man team erecting access metalwork solutions, mainly in the water treatment industry.
  • The role is based in Derby, working within the Severn Trent Water region, but will provide national coverage.
  • Install and fix steel sections, open-type flooring, and handrails.
  • Measure, cut, and form handrail tubes, line up and level steelwork, and fix and drill steelwork including handrail systems to concrete.

About You:

You should have a strong background in fabricating and fitting, and the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.

On-site, you should have certifications such as CSCS Slinger Signaller, Confined Space, IPAF, Working at Heights, City & Guilds, Abrasive Wheels, Forklift/Telehandler license, and SSSTS. We will support training needs.

Safety awareness is essential, working to SSOW & RAMS standards.
