Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor
East Kilbride | Permanent | Up to £45,000 | Day Shift | Profit Share Bonus

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, employee-owned engineering manufacturer based in East Kilbride. Known for designing and delivering robust, high-specification machinery to customers across the globe, they now have an opening for an experienced Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor to join their on-site team.

This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone with strong experience in conventional machining and a genuine interest in leading and motivating a skilled shop floor team.

The Role:

As Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor, you will:

Oversee day-to-day activity across both machine and fabrication areas

Motivate and guide welders and machinists to deliver quality output on time

Operate a range of manual machines, with particular focus on horizontal boring

Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precision components

Uphold high standards of housekeeping and shop safety

Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives across the department

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in a machine shop supervisory role

Skilled in manual machining - especially horizontal boring

Ability to read detailed mechanical drawings and manufacture accordingly

Confident leading by example and encouraging a positive team culture

Good understanding of safe working practices in an engineering environment

Experience using Kerns Richard SH75 or similar boring machines

Counterbalance forklift licence

Competent in overhead crane operation

The Package:

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience

Hours: 39 per week (Monday to Friday, early day shift)

Overtime paid at standard hourly rate

Company profit share bonus (circa £5,600 in 2024/2025)

Matched pension contribution (up to 5%)

32 days holiday per year

Employee ownership benefits including share options and tax incentives
