Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor
East Kilbride | Permanent | Up to 45,000 | Day Shift | Profit Share Bonus

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, employee-owned engineering manufacturer based in East Kilbride. Known for designing and delivering robust, high-specification machinery to customers across the globe, they now have an opening for an experienced Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor to join their on-site team.

This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone with strong experience in conventional machining and a genuine interest in leading and motivating a skilled shop floor team.



The Role:

As Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day activity across both machine and fabrication areas

  • Motivate and guide welders and machinists to deliver quality output on time

  • Operate a range of manual machines, with particular focus on horizontal boring

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce precision components

  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and shop safety

  • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives across the department



What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a machine shop supervisory role

  • Skilled in manual machining - especially horizontal boring

  • Ability to read detailed mechanical drawings and manufacture accordingly

  • Confident leading by example and encouraging a positive team culture

  • Good understanding of safe working practices in an engineering environment



Desirable Extras:

  • Experience using Kerns Richard SH75 or similar boring machines

  • Counterbalance forklift licence

  • Competent in overhead crane operation



The Package:

  • Salary: Up to 45,000 depending on experience

  • Hours: 39 per week (Monday to Friday, early day shift)

  • Overtime paid at standard hourly rate

  • Company profit share bonus (circa 5,600 in 2024/2025)

  • Matched pension contribution (up to 5%)

  • 32 days holiday per year

  • Company sick pay scheme (post-probation)

  • Employee ownership benefits including share options and tax incentives
