Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Fabrication Engineer for Sizewell C’s Marine & Tunnels programme. The role focuses on day-to-day oversight of fabrication activities at UK supplier facilities, ensuring safe implementation, quality standards and timely delivery in line with project requirements.

The role requires a Mechanical/Manufacturing background with experience in heavy fabrication, welding and quality documentation, plus strong stakeholder communication and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in fabrication, manufacturing engineering or heavy engineering environments.
• Good understanding of structural steel fabrication, welding and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with fabrication quality systems and inspection requirements.
• Good understanding of welding procedures, material certification and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience reviewing or working with ITPs and quality documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience working with suppliers or manufacturing organisations.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Support day-to-day management and oversight of fabrication activities for structural steel and mechanical packages.
• Provide day-to-day oversight at supplier facilities to ensure safe delivery to quality and programme requirements.
• Work with fabrication, engineering, quality teams and independent assurance bodies.
• Monitor progress, quality compliance and resolve engineering/production issues.
• Report to the Package Manager and coordinate with project stakeholders.
