Job summary

Forward Assist Recruitment is looking for a Fabrication and Welding Tutor to guide engineering apprentices in practical workshop skills and theory. The role involves delivering hands-on training in fabrication and welding, plus classroom delivery of safety, materials, and fabrication/welding principles.

The successful candidate will use existing induction plans and be responsible for learner retention and progression, with full training provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ qualification required and proven industry experience.
• No teaching qualification? Full training provided as part of professional development.
• Deliver practical training in workshops and underpinning theory in a classroom setting on Health & Safety, Materials, Fabrication Principles, Welding Principles.

Responsibilities

Based in Bolton, our client is one of largest independent Apprenticeship training providers in the Northwest and has over fifty years experience in the training industry.

They are recruiting a Fabrication and Welding Tutor who holds an appropriate level 3 NVQ qualification and able to demonstrate experience of working in industry within their career. You will need to be passionate about engineering and keen to pass on your knowledge and skills to the next generation of Fabrication and Welding Engineers. Don t hold a teaching qualification? Don t worry! Full training will be provided as part of your professional development.

As part of your role, you will work with groups of engineering apprentices and deliver practical training within the dedicated workshops on fabrication and welding processes. In addition to the practical delivery, you will be responsible for delivery of the underpinning theory in a classroom setting. This will be on subjects such as Health & Safety, Materials, Fabrication Principles, Welding Principles, to further develop the apprentices understanding and ability.

You will be delivering underpinning knowledge and coaching, producing learning plans and schemes of work where relevant. We will provide a robust induction plan to support your development within the role.

You will have full responsibility for allocated learners to ensure retention, progression and achievement.
